NOX
Emergency response plan in NOX
NOX supports the implementation of emergency response plans.
A lockdown function can be programmed in NOX without the need for additional hardware.
Example
Lockdown function with 3 levels
Level 0 = Normal operation
Level 1 = All doors are locked and require card + PIN code for access.
- If an offender has obtained an access card, they will not be able to enter through the doors, as a code is required in addition to the card.
Level 2 = Same as Level 1, but extended so that only a specific group of people can enter through the doors, for example guards and/or selected staff groups.
Levels can be customized and expanded with, for example:
- Flashing lights (blinking colored lights)
- Messages sent to mobile phones via push notifications
- Voice announcements tailored to the situation
- SMS alerts
- Sirens sounding in a specific pattern
- Forwarding of PLOV alarms to a control center or directly to the police
- Shutdown of window shutters, roller grilles, and many other security-related lockdown measures.

Activation of the emergency mode (Lockdown)
To activate the respective levels of lockdown, many different methods can be used. In NOX, one method does not exclude another, so you can choose one solution or combine several of them.
For example, you can:
- Use a shortcut function on a smartphone / smartwatch (one-click function)
- Activate PLOV with a physical push button, similar to a panic button, which upon activation triggers Level 1 (or Level 2)
- Use a card reader (fixed code + card)
- Use PC Control and SIMS (NOX’s own software)
- Use the NOX Button (ARAS’s own development)
- Integrate alerts to or from third-party systems, e.g. fire alarm systems or voice alarm systems
- Many more…
General
What all of the above functions have in common is that they primarily require programming in NOX, and possibly minimal new hardware in the form of additional flash units, sirens, and potentially NOX modules to control them. In most cases, however, existing modules, sirens, and flash units can be reused.
The functions described above are only examples of how high-security features can be implemented in NOX to support PLOV or lockdown scenarios. It is possible to create customized solutions for virtually any conceivable scenario.
ARAS offers training in high-security (NOX III) elements in NOX through our ARAS Academy, which is open for registration for installers.
